The conscious leader maintains a sense of humour.
He knows that life is full of irony and is ready to laugh at any moment, at every situation.
He knows that no matter how serious the situation, we should also be careful to not make it mean too much. He remains present enough to remember that no matter how bad things appear to be, no matter what the apparent consequences, the world will not end. The world has survived worse.
Most of all, he is ready to laugh at himself, or at least, to not take himself too seriously. This is his cardinal rule and when he feels himself becoming tense, it is his signal to lighten up inside.
He has also seen that by getting others to do this, he opens everyone up to creative ideas and possibility. He knows that laughter is often more effective than lecturing when it comes to learning.
The conscious leader keeps possibility alive, by remaining open to humour.
