The conscious leader cuts his losses.

He knows that it’s better to face a finite loss and move on than to allow a loss-making project to continue in the hope that it will pay out. He recognizes the latter as living the lottery version of life and knows there is no power on that path.

He doesn’t push forward on a hopeless project just because he’s afraid of missing out, or to protect his reputation, or self-image. He takes his destiny into his own hands; he takes the hit and starts over if he must.

He sees that when water hits a rock, it does not attempt to drill through it; it goes around. Likewise, there are many paths to the same goal and taking a different path does not mean giving up on the goal. In fact, the sooner one accepts this, the better.

The conscious leader gets more quickly onto the right path by deliberately cutting losses.
