The conscious leader embodies confidence.

She knows that confidence is not built on certainty. Instead, she knows that, just as courage is not the absence of fear, but the containment of fear, so confidence is about bottling uncertainty.

She has seen that an aircraft can fly on nothing but thin air, as long as it gets the shape of its wing and its speed right. So confidence can fly on uncertainty, as long as her gets her inner dialogue and her trust in herself right.

She knows that the biggest mistake she sometimes makes is to think that other people have their act together more than she herself does. Too many times, once she has gained access to what’s behind the façade, she has found that this is not true.

Now, uncertainty and doubt are the wind beneath her wings.

The conscious leader never lacks confidence because she never seeks to suppress uncertainty.
