The conscious leader responds to what wants to happen.

He knows that life is a process of give and take, that you can’t launch yourself at life and think it will all go your way. Every step you take, there is an unfolding; things change, and you have to respond in the best way to keep moving towards your goal.

He knows that when he applies force, or resists what wants to happen, he is not in flow. He knows that to get back into flow he must return to that place of gentle responsiveness: listen, feel, and respond.

He knows that in order to remain in that state of flow, he has to let go of his own ideas of the way things should be and respond to the way things are unfolding. He knows that coincidences and obstacles are not always signs—and, yet, that you shouldn’t flog a dead horse.

The conscious leader listens carefully to his own inner voice and keeps himself in flow by remaining ready and willing to respond.
