What frameworks and tools do you use?

My coaching integrates ontological coaching (grounded in the work of Fernando Flores and Werner Erhard), Jungian psychology, masculine psychology (Jung, Bly, Hollis, Gurian), cognitive-behavioural principles, Vipassana-based mindfulness, and the Enneagram. I don't apply these mechanically. I draw on whatever is most useful for the man I'm working with at any given moment. The frameworks are in service of the person — not the other way around.

Do I need to have a specific problem or goal to work with you?

No. Some men come with a clear presenting challenge — a career transition, a relationship breakdown, a sense of burnout. Others come with something harder to articulate: a feeling that something important is missing, or that they've been living someone else's version of their life. Both are valid entry points. The coaching process helps clarify what's actually going on beneath the surface — which is often different from the stated problem.

How does coaching support the initiation process?

Coaching can't replicate the full depth of traditional initiation — that would require community, ritual, and time in a way that structured coaching isn't designed to provide. But it can do something essential: it can create the conditions for a man to face himself honestly. In my coaching, I use the Three Thresholds as a diagnostic and developmental framework. We identify where a man is stuck — which threshold he hasn't fully crossed — and we work directly with that material. That might mean confronting patterns of avoidance, examining [...]

What are the Three Thresholds of Initiation — and why do they matter?

Across cultures and throughout history, initiation has served a single purpose: to move a boy into manhood by compelling him to cross three fundamental thresholds. Modern culture has largely abandoned this process — which is why so many men remain psychologically stuck in boyhood, regardless of their age or achievements. The Three Thresholds are: Threshold 1 — Separation from boyhood and the comforts of the mother's world. This isn't about rejecting the feminine or your actual mother. It's about leaving behind the psychological need for unconditional comfort, approval, and [...]

What is the Four Stages of Masculine Maturity model?

The Four Stages of Masculine Maturity is a developmental framework I use to help men understand where they are in their psychological journey — and what the path forward looks like. The four stages are represented by colours that map to psychological archetypes:Red: The boy-man. Driven by impulse, entitlement, or rebellion. Still operating from the psychology of youth — seeking approval, avoiding responsibility, or asserting dominance as a substitute for genuine authority.White: The performer. Competent and disciplined, but often driven by fear of failure or external validation. Success is real, [...]

What makes your approach to men’s coaching different?

Most coaching is either too generic or too therapeutic. Mine is neither. I bring together formal coach training (MCC, 10,000+ documented hours), grounded knowledge of masculine psychology — Jung, Bly, James Hollis, Michael Gurian — and lived experience as a rebel, husband, stepfather, mentor, startup founder, and long-term meditator. I've done my own inner work, including Jungian therapy and men's initiation work through the Mankind Project. I don't coach from a textbook. I coach from a knowledge base and a life that's been tested.

Who is this coaching for?

This coaching is for men who sense there's more to life than they're currently living — but aren't sure what's blocking them or where to start. Most of the men I work with are thoughtful, capable, and already reasonably successful. They're not in crisis. They're in transition: questioning old patterns, feeling stuck in roles that no longer fit, or carrying something unresolved that they can't quite name. If you've ever felt like you're performing a version of yourself rather than actually living — this work is for you. [...]
